Covert Canyon Training Center is in no way related to Blackwater Training Center, Blackwater Security Consulting or any other Blackwater entity. Just prior to September of 2002 Blackwater Training Center was awarded a training contract by the U.S. military; A portion of this training contract was to be conducted in San Diego County. Blackwater subcontracted this training requirement to American Shooting Center, Inc. in Kearny Mesa. American Shooting Center has been conducting this training independently with no Blackwater involvement since September of 2002.

American Shooting Center and Covert Canyon have a common principal, Mr. Marc Halcon. On May 22, 2007, Mr. Halcon learned that his name had been used by Blackwater on corporate documents dating as far back as 2003, to allegedly facilitate Blackwater’s move into California. Such action was done completely without Mr. Halcon’s knowledge and without his consent. Mr. Halcon was at no time notified by Blackwater that he was listed as its agent for service of process and he would not have consented to such appointment.

Review of the California Secretary of State files indicates Mr. Halcon is not currently listed as the agent for service of process for Blackwater Lodge and Training Center, Inc. A full investigation into the matter has been undertaken by Mr. Halcon’s legal counsel. Covert Canyon and American Shooting Center are dedicated to providing quality training and facility support to Law Enforcement and Military units. Our reputation in San Diego and support for our troops and public safety speak for itself.
